About

Practical by habit, curious on purpose.

Portrait of Vishnu Vekaria

The short version

I'm Vishnu — a final-year BSc (Hons) Computer Science student at Ulster University London, graduating September 2026. I build full-stack applications and REST APIs in Python and TypeScript, and my recent work leans into NLP- and LLM-backed features with FastAPI and sentence embeddings.

The pattern across my projects is the same instinct: make the system explainable. A tax assistant where a rule engine computes and the LLM only explains. A misinformation tracker that matches claims semantically instead of by keyword. A file-transfer platform that gets its insight from metadata so it never has to read your files.

Outside the repos

Through my first two years of the degree I worked the front end at Sainsbury's — September 2024 to April 2026 — where I coordinated teams of five to eight colleagues during peak trading. Running a shop floor while carrying a full-time CS course load teaches you the things a syllabus doesn't: staying organised under pressure, and being the person others check in with when it's busy.

I've also taken on freelance work — a portfolio showcase site for a London photographer, and a redesign concept for SKSST Temple focused on clearer navigation while preserving existing community content.

Numbers I'll stand behind

Year-2 average of 73.5%, best module Programming in Practice at 87%. Seven original public repos, three deployments live right now. If any of that comes up in an interview, I can open the repo and walk through it.

What I'm after

A junior full-stack or backend developer role focused on backend APIs, modern web applications, and practical product delivery. Part-time now, full-time from September 2026.
